Darkglass Alpha-Omega 900 Bass Head incl. intelligent Footswitch, handgefertigte Spitzentechnologie für Bassisten aus Finnland. Der Alpha-Omega 900™ ist ein 900W Verstärker mit analogem Preamp und einem Class D Power Modul und enthält die besten Elemente der sehr beliebten Alpha-Omega Preamp Pedale und erweitert diese um einen VCA Compressor in Studioqualität, einen grafischen EQ, MIDI Programmierbarkeit und eine Impulse Response Cabinet Emulation mit bis zu drei verschiedenen virtuellen Cabinets.

 

Front Panel Features:

Input

Standard Mono Klinke für das Instrument.

Passive/Active

Schaltet zwischen aktiven und passiven Modus. Aktive Bässe können einen höheren Output haben was eine ungewollte Verzerrung früh im Signal hervorufen kann. Falls diese zusätzliche Verzerrung gewollt ist kann ein aktiver Bass auch im Passivmodus verwendet werden.

Distortion

Aktiviert oder deaktivert die Alpha-Omega Engine umd dem Clean Signal eine natürliche Kompression, organische Harmonien und eine Sättigung von milden Overdrive bis zu High-Gain-Distortion hinzuzufügen.
Die Alpha-Omega Engine ist der Clean Sektion vorgelagert (dadruch lässt sich der EQ für zusätzliche Feineinstellungen vewenden).

Mitten Boost bei 2,8 kHz

Growl

Bass Boost für einen fetteren Sound und mehr Tiefensättigung

Compression

Regelt die Kompression die der Alpha-Omega Engine beigesteuert wird.

Drive

Regelt das Maß der Verzerrung das die Alpha-Omega Engine zum Sound beisteuern wird. Von weichen, warmen Overdrive bis hin zu massiven, modernen Distortion Sounds ist alles abgedeckt.

Level

Stellt die Ausgangslautstärke der Alpha-Omega Engine ein.

Blend

Mixt das Clean Signal mit dem Distortion Signal der Alpha-Omega Engine.

Mod

Es kann zwischen zwei Overdirve Sounds gewählt werden: Alpha - für einen sehr definierten Sound mit ordentlich Punch, oder Omega - für einen brutalen und rohen Sound

Gain

Verändert die Lautstärke des Clean Signals. Umso höher dieser Regler eingestellt ist desto aggressiver ist der Growl des Sounds.

Bass

+-12dB bei 80Hz. Verändert das Maß der Bässe des Signals.

Mitten

+-12dB bei 250, 500, 1,5K und 3Khz

Höhen

+-12dB bei 5kHz. Verändert das Maß der Höhen des Signals.

Master

Steuert die Gesamtlautstärke.

Mute

Schaltet den Verstärker stumm.

Speaker Output

Verbindung des Verstärkers mit einer Bassbox. Es handelt sich um einen Speakon/Klinke Kombo Anschluss, es können somit Speakon Kabel oder Lautsprecherkabel mit Klinkenstecker verwendet werden. 
*WARNUNG: Keine Instrumentenkabel verwenden! Das kann den Verstärker beschädigen.

Min-Load

Ändert die Impendaz auf 2Ω. Sie können diesen Schalter benutzen um den Output zu reduzieren falls ihr 4Ω Cabinet nur bis 500W geeignet ist (auf diese Weise erhalten sie auch 350W für eine 8Ω Box)

Pre Amp Out

Damit ist eine Verbindung zu einen anderen Endstufe möglich.

Power Amp In

Damit lässt sich eine andere Vorstufe verwenden (Master Volume ist in diesem Fall deaktivert)

Ground Lift

Ground Lift für den DI XLR Output. Mit Hilfe deses Scahlters kann ein im DI Signal festgestelltes Grundrauschen reduziert werden.

Pre DI Output & Post DI Output

Symmetrisches DI Signal des reinen Basssignals (Pre) oder des verarbeiteten Signal (Post)

USB

Der USB Anschluss kann dazu verwendet werden verschiedene Cabinet Impulses (IRs) auf den Verstärker zu laden oder einige Parameter wie MDI, Compressor, etc. anzupassen.

MIDI

Der MIDI Input erlaubt das Wechseln der Kanäle mit Hilfe eines Standard MIDI Controllers.

Footswitch

Der Fußschalter schaltet die Microtubes Engine an und aus. Bei Gedrückthalten des Schalters für 3 Sekunden wird der Verstärker stumm geschaltet. Der VMT/B3K Knopf am Amp bleibt schaltbar bei angeschlossenen Footswitch.
* Zur Verwendung des Footswitch wird ein einfaches Mono Instrumentenkabel benötigt.
* Um den Verstärker am Front Panel zu schalten muss der Footswitch ausgesteckt sein.
* Der Microtubes 900™ funktioniert ausschließlich mit dem im Lieferumfang enthaltenen intelligenten Footswitch.

The Alpha Omega 900 is a 900W amplifier equipped with an all analog preamplifier and a Class D Power Module and takes the best elements of their most successful distortion preamps adding a studio-grade VCA compressor, 6-band graphic equalizer, MIDI programmability and impulse respose cabinet simulation with up to three different virtual cabinets.

 

Front Panel Features:

Input

Use this jack to connect your instrument via a standard ¼” mono cable.

Passive/Active

Use this push-button switch to change from passive to active mode. If your bass is active it can have a hotter signal making the amp to distort early (feel free to use if such additional distortion is desired).

Distortion

Use this push button to turn on or off the Alpha·Omega Engine™ to add natural compression, organic harmonic enhancement, and saturation ranging from mild overdrive to high gain bass rage. 

The Alpha·Omega Engine operates before the clean section (you can therefore use the 6-Band Active EQ for additional tone shaping).

Bite

Boosts high mids (2.8kHz) for additional presence and definition.

 

Growl

Shelving Bass Boost for a fatter tone and increased low end saturation.

Compression

This knob controls the amount of dynamic compression added to the Alpha·Omega Engine. The make up gain is adjusted automatically. The compression can be turned off or assigned using the Darkglass Suite.

Drive

This knob controls the amount of distortion that the Alpha·Omega Engine will deliver. It will change from a soft, warm overdrive to a massive and modern distortion sound.

Level

Use this knob to control Alpha·Omega Engine’s output volume.

Blend

Use this knob to mix between the Clean signal and the Distortion signal (Alpha·Omega Engine).

Mod

Selects or mixes between the two distinct distortion circuits: Alpha is punchy, tight with a lot of definition, whereas Omega is simply brutal and raw.

Gain

Use this knob to change the volume of the signal before the EQ. You can set it low for ensuring the cleanest operation possible or set it higher for a more aggressive growl.

Bass

+-12dB at 80Hz. Changes the low content of the signal.

Mids

+-12dB at 250, 500, 1.5K and 3Khz. This graphic EQ control the mid content of the signal.

Treble

+-12dB at 5kHz. Use this knob to change the high content of the signal.

Master

Use this knob to control the overall volume of the amplifier.

Mute

Use this push button to mute the amplifier.

Rear Panel Features:

Speaker Output

Use this connector to connect the amplifier to your cabinet. This Speakon combo jack allows for either Speakon or ¼” speaker cable operation. The outputs are connected in parallel. 

WARNING: Do not use an instrument cable with this jack. Using an instrument cable can damage your amplifier.

Min-Load

Press this switch when using a 2Ω load. You can use this control to lower the output if your 4Ω cabinet is not able handle more than 500W (you can also get 350W with an 8Ω cabinet in this configuration).

Pre Amp Out

You can use this output to connect the preamp to a different power amp.

Power Amp In

You can use this input to connect a different preamp in the power amp. (master volume will be disabled)

Ground Lift

Use this control to lift the ground of the DI XLR output. If you are experiencing ground noise in your DI signal try changing the setting of this control.

Pre DI Output

Use this connector to send a balanced copy of your clean signal to the console, mic preamp, interface, etc.

Post DI Output

Use this connector to connect the Microtubes 900 preamplifier to balanced equipment (mic preamp, console, recorder, compressor, audio interface, etc.) via a standard XLR jack. Using this connection you have a signal processed by the preamp of the amp (gain, distortion, eq, master, etc.)

USB

The USB connector allows you to use the Darkglass Suite to load different cabinet impulses or change different parameters on your amp (midi, compressor, etc)

Headphone Output

Connect your Headphones and enjoy the impulse based cabinet emulation.

Headphone Volume

This knob controls the volume of the headphone output.

Aux In

from your laptop, cellphone, mp3 player, etc.

Cabinet Select

Use this switch to navigate between the 3 different cabinet impulses or the raw sound of your amp.

MIDI

The midi input allow you to control the channels of the amp via a midi standard controller.

Footswitch

The Intelligent Footswitch is proprietary digitally controlled device that allows you to remotely engage and disengage the Microtubes Engine. You can also hold the footswitch to Mute the amplifier. The VMT/B3K push button will remain operational with the Intelligent Footswitch plugged in. 

· You can use a regular mono instrument cable to connect the amplifier to the footswitch. 

· You must remove the cable from the footswitch jack in the rear panel if you want to control the amp from the front panel.

AC Socket

Use this connector to feed electric power to the amplifier. 100 - 230 VAC, 50Hz-60.

AC Power ON/OFF

Use this Switch to release the audio energy from your bass.

 

Footswitch:

The Intelligent Footswitch is an intuitive yet versatile accessory for your Microtubes 900™. One tap will engage and disengage the Microtubes Engine, while holding for 3 seconds will Mute the amplifier. It is connected to the head via a standard 1/4" cable and it's powered by a microcontroller that sends commands to the head using a proprietary communication protocol.
