Antique Quaker Lace Empress Tablecloth #1010 with matching dresser scarf in original box. Never used, original tag attached.

From a 2021 sale listing: One of the most romantic designs ever made with figural lace, including corners featuring lovers gazing into each other's eyes as cupid's aim their arrows, with chubby cherubs, or putti, frolicking in the center and along the sides. Add flowers, leaves, swirls, different types of net, and you have a truly stunning lace tablecloth.

Unusual to find a cloth this size free from damage and the tag intact.

Measures approximately 72" x 90" and is free from holes or snags. There is some discoloration from improper storage.

The color is the standard "Old Ivory," cream color that compliments everything!

Could serve as the perfect wedding tablecloth, or would look just stunning for a special occasion!

Some history: The Quaker Lace Company, which was incorporated in 1911 in Philadelphia, started making its famous tablecloths in 1932. Suddenly middle class Americans were able to put beautiful lace tablecloths on their tables without breaking the bank. The fact that they were so easy to care for (they don't even need ironing!) made them even more popular.

One of their famous designs, the White House, was used during the Eisenhower administration in the White House. The detail in these older Quaker Lace tablecloths makes them very sought after today. This design is particularly famous and collectible.
