QUANTITY꞉ ONE medium-security tubular cam-lock, 1⅝" double-punched cam, cylinder retaining nut, cam retaining nut, stop washer and two tubular keys.

WHY IS A DOUBLE-PUNCHED CAM IMPORTANT?꞉  Many individuals purchase a cam lock without thinking about how to how the lock's (mounting) orientation affects the final position of the cam.  The majority of cam locks can be installed either right-side up or upside down; however, the important question is, after installing the lock, what position is the cam in when the lock is locked?

If a double-punched ISN'T utilized (allowing universal installation) you've got a 50/50 chance of having the cam end up in the wrong position.   Nobody wants to buy a cam lock only to discover that when the key is removed, the cam is in the wrong position.  By employing a double-punched cam, the cam can be in the 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock or 9 o'clock position when the lock is locked.

MOUNTING HOLE꞉  This cam lock mounts in what is considered a 3/4" single or double-D hole.

TYPE OF CAM꞉  Steel, double-punched.  Cam measures 0.12" thick, 0.75" wide and 1.625" end-to-end.

SPECIFICATIONS꞉  The lock's cylinder is the industry standard "Double-D" footprint (making mounting right-side up or upside-down possible).  The lock body, cylinder, two keys, cylinder retaining nut, cam retaining nut, sloped washer, stop washer and double-punched cam weigh 3.0 ounces (85 grams).  The lock cylinder measures 1.44" from the face of the lock to the end of the cam's retaining bolt.  The cylinder measures 0.84" across the face, 0.72" across the threads, 0.621" across the flat sides of the cylinder.  After backing-up the cylinder retaining nut, this cam lock can be installed in any material up to 1/2" thick.  The key removes in only one position: The locked position (at six o'clock -or- twelve-o'clock if installed upside down).  The key is retained in the lock when the lock is in the "open / unlocked position".  The key rotates clockwise or counter-clockwise 90º to open or lock.
