This is an original press photo. Jenny pets baby giraffe, called Carol II born yesterday - About 200 visitors to Audubon Park Zoo got an unexpected treat yesterday when they witnesses the birth of a baby giraffe, tentatively named Carol II, about 4:36 pm. The birth, to a 4-year-old named Jenny, took place out in the giraffe enclosure next to the new Asian Domain. Zoo officials allowed the spectators to remain in the zoo past the usual 5:30 pm closing time to see the birth, which was unusually protracted. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 6-5-1979.
