"DEAR ALEXEY: A PLAY FOR RADIO" original play script adapted by Alan Brown, translated by Alan Brown and Kyra Dietz from the 1861-1882 'A Correspondence' by Ivan Turgenev. The text is presented single-sided on foolscap-sized paper (13x8inches, 330x203mm), bound with a split-pin and washers at he top left corner. This manuscript dates from the late 1960s or early 1970s.

THIS ORIGINAL PLAYSCRIPT would have been one of a small quantity that was reproduced on a Stencil Duplicator, also known as a mimeograph. These low-volume copies would be used to place scripts with literary agents, stage, TV and film production companies or used by the cast members in actual productions of the play. These playscripts were not intended for commercial sale and are usually imprinted “MANUSCRIPT – NOT FOR SALE”.
