For sale is a WW2 Royal Squadron Visit To Canada Severn Division H.M.S. Flying Fox Letter/ Invite.

The letter states:


“ROYAL SQUADRON VISIT TO CANADA, Accommodation for Reserve Officers & Ratings. The period of the Cruise of the Royal Squadron to Canada is ex- pected to be from 5th. May 1939 to the latter part of June. OFFICERS: Between them H.M. Ships Southampton and Glasgow can accommodate 8 R.N.V.R. officers from whole of R.N.V.R. (some would be required to sling hammocks.) The appointment of Officers for this Cruise is not a routine form of training, but a representation of the R.N.V.R. Officers will be required to provide themselves with No. 3 to No. 12 dress, inclusive. They are also advised to take tail coats as well as dinner jackets. RATINGS: The following numbers of ratings from the Severn Division have been allocated for the Cruise. 4 Seamen ratings 2 Communication ratings and probably I Writer (perferably with a knowledge of shorthand) | Artisan I E.R.A. I E.A. I O.A. OFFICERS who wish to be considered for this Cruise should apply to these Headquarters IN WRITING IMMEDIATELY. RATINGS should inform Staff Office not later than 5th April 1989 (Sgd) H.G.L. Harvey, Captain R.N.V.R.”
