What is the difference between GCF/Sol and FBE/Fa Accordions?

GCF is commonly known model for the "Beginner" - Many songs are in GCF and it is the most familiar to learn - You would buy a harmonica in the Key of C for instance because it is also the easiest to learn - The same idea applies to the GCF Accordion. If you are playing along with a Guitar, we recommend a GCF Compadre. If you're an Absolute Beginner and want a better accordion than a Panther and are serious about learning, we recommend a GCF Compadre. FBbEb is what we call a "Intermediate" model - Many players who already own a GCF Panther will want to graduate to a very affordable FBbEb Compadre as you can now learn more advanced songs - This is a popular key for any band with a horn section. The FBbEb Compadre is a much more affordable option, when compared with the Hohner Corona II.

Why should I buy the Hohner Compadre?

The Hohner Compadre has great quality for beginners. We recommend GCF (SOL en espanol) for the beginner accordion player. The Hohner Compadre is

the ideal purchase for the intermediate player, who already owns a GCF

accordion, like the Hohner Panther . We highly recommend purchasing the

Hohner Compadre in FBbEb (FA en espanol) for your second accordion. Two reed accordions like the Hohner Compadre are a "Dry" sound, usually used in Norteno , Tejano , Conjunto , Rock, Folk, Polka, Blues, Jazz Styles etc.

Hohner Compadre Accordion Features:

The finish is a matte paint similar to the Panther accordion but comes with

an adjustable bass strap, a gig bag and a set of straps. This is a great value and will put a new look on the market especially for the younger players. Available in a variety of new matte colors and a wide selection of key combinations, the Hohner Compadre is the 2 voice model for both entry-level or experienced players. An economy model with high on performance extras, the Hohner Compadre features an adjustable left-hand strap and a radically re-designed wide-open-web grille, allowing for even greater volume along with solid protection. The Hohner Compadre comes with double strap brackets, comfortable padded straps, and an easy to carry, resistant gig-bag. The Compadre is the new standard and affordable alternative in the Hohner economy series, and like its name, is a new friend and Compadre to all Hohner

accordionists.
