The Tide Minnow SLD series was developed as a slim-type, long distance model, with castability as the top priority. It is a basic model that can be used in a wide range of locales (surf, estuaries, off the rocks, etc). It features a ‘wobble and roll’ action with a pleasant feel. We created the sinking model by simply adding a small fixed weight to the belly area of the floating model. This slight weight difference translates into a major change in performance. Utilizing both the floating and sinking lures depending on the situation enables the angler to create a more versatile game plan. The 125 SLD-S is very productive in surf, especially when targeting flounders. Greater weight allows greater castability, and by simply counting while letting the lure sink, the angler can access productive zones of various species. Additionally, one can expect even more stable action in the rougher conditions of the break-line.
The 145 SLD-F is best used along the open coastline with breaking surf and outlying rocks. The strong ‘wobble and roll’ action not only appeals to the game fish more, but also allows anglers to judge the movement of the water, making it a great pilot lure for covering an extensive area.
