Our terms and important sales information

PAYMENT: Please note that payment is due at the time of purchase.  If you need to extend that time, please make contact with us.  We note this with the expectation that you need a few days for payment, not a week or two or even a month, so please be aware of this.  Without some kind of notification from you we have no way of knowing if you plan to make payment, so if you haven’t paid after 3 days we aren’t going to assume that you are waiting for payday or waiting to get paid by someone else. 

COMIC GRADING: Grading comics is not as easy as it looks and things are almost always missed.  We list a grade but only as a guide.  The grade is just an estimate to hopefully assist the potential bidder or buyer.  A buyer’s assessment of the overall grade of a comic book will almost always differ from that of the sellers.  Also, pictures or scans DO NOT always show ALL of the flaws on a comic book, so please consider this.  A light line down the middle of a comic is practically invisible at times in a picture or scan so we try to mention obvious flaws that need to be known.  If you buy a comic from us and get it professionally graded, we cannot be held responsible if you don’t get the grade you were expecting from CGC, CBCS, PGX or any other grading service you might use.  Also, if you purchase an item based simply on the estimated grade we listed without actually looking at the pictures then you might risk not getting what you're expecting? 

RESTORATION: Unless it's blatantly obvious (and seriously, it's gotta be really blatant) we just can't tell when a comic has been restored, i.e. color touch, cropping, acid washing and the like.  We don't work for CGC, CBCS, PGX, or any other company that grades comics professionally, which for some reason is assumed at times.  We just don't have this kind of skill.  We can obviously see writing on a comic or where tape has been placed to cover a tear or adhere a cover back to a comic, but the more minute or professional restoration is not as easy.  Again, when we assign a grade to any comic that we sell, it's just our opinion.  We have of course did our reading on Overstreet grading, so we feel like we've got a semi-good handle on it, but we are by no means perfect.

SHIPPING / BAGS & BOARDS: We offer combined shipping, but only for purchases from the same day.  We are not a brick and mortar store nor do we have the resources that some of the online comic shops have.  We would love to offer free shipping to improve our sales, but shipping just isn’t free and neither are shipping materials.  So unfortunately that money has to be accounted for in order to ship a comic to a buyer, especially if we don’t want the comic damaged by a mail carrier.  If your mail carrier is “really rough with packages”, then that's something you need to work out with your local post office.  Normally the manner in which we ship comic(s) is far more than adequate and safe.  If your mail carrier manages to damage a package that we sent to you, then that mail carrier really tried hard to damage that package.  Do we bag and board each comic?  In most cases, Yes.  There are exceptions to this for large orders of mostly new comics where we will package the new comics together without an individual bag and board. 

SHIPPING COSTS: First things first, we only ship to the U.S. at the moment.  The way that the US Postal Service calculates shipping charges has changed quite a bit as of 6/23/2019 and we have no sure way of knowing how much the cost to ship to a specific time zone or geographical area will cost due to these changes. With this in mind, we charge $7.99 for most single comic sales with the exceptions being heavy books (like ASM 800 for example) or very expensive books.  This covers the shipping and packaging costs to ship the comic safely.  If someone is charging less than that they are either one of those online comic shops we mentioned, using mediocre packaging or they’re losing money.  COMBINED SHIPPING?? Yes, we adjust shipping for multiple comic orders.  For each additional comic we add $1.00.  Please note that we start with the shipping cost of the most expensive to ship book in your order.  For example if one of your comics shipped by itself for $7.99 and you order 2 additional comics, then your shipping charge would be $9.99 with $1 added for each of the extra comics on top of $7.99.  We of course take into consideration that an order with a large number of books in it can have shipping adjusted for things like flat rate USPS shipping and packaging.  We state Standard Shipping in our listings which can end up as First Class or Priority shipping depending on what the weight of your order ends up being.  WE WILL NOT SHIP MEDIA MAIL.
