Viners of Sheffield Alpha Plated Nut Dish with Squirrel.

This is a sweet little fella. A Sheffield Plate Nut Dish with a Squirrel on the side of the dish. 

Sheffield Alpha Plate was a combination of silver and copper, manufactured and used for many household objects - tea services, dishes .. and squirrel nut dishes.

This piece is marked on the base: Corporate Mark / Alpha / Granted by the Cutlers Company 1836 / Alpha Plate / Viners of Sheffield / England.

Can be practical, or just as interesting as a decorative piece. I have left it unpolished and more rustic - but would equally look the part with a polish.

Due to age and being pre-loved, it is in good condition, with some signs of wear and marks to the inside of the dish and the base. I think this only adds to it's appeal, character and history.
