El Guitarrico (The Guitar Player) - Serenade for Piano by Perez Soriano. Published by Casa Amarilla in Santiago Chile. Contains 8 pages (6 pages of music plus covers). Lyrics in Spanish. Measures about 10" x 13 1/4".

Internet sources say this piece was composed in 1900. This sheet music is undated but, based on the larger-than-standard size, was probably around in 1920 or slightly earlier. The back cover contains photos of the publisher's business and prominently features telephone numbers, which suggests a date closer to 1920.

Condition is shown in photographs. There are some edge chips on the front cover. The front cover and spine have been mended with tape from inside. The spine has not separated. The paper has tanned with age.

This item should interest sheet music collectors. It's written in the unusual time signature of 3/8. Chilean music publications from that era are not frequently seen today.

Agustín Pérez Soriano (1846 - 1907) was a Spanish composer. El Guitarrico was his best-known work. It premiered on October 12, 1900 at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, Madrid.
