Nelson & Sons do not date their early edition books but have found similar with the same pattern on the front with thistles on the four front edges and circular pattern in the centre date around the 1920s. This copy is not illustrated. The red cloth cover is in good used condition..a thistle pattern in black very clear, outer spine gold etched writing easy to read..thistles in black at the crown and the lower spine..minor bumping…The text block pages clear and clean throughout… endpapers minimal shadowing…512 text block pages.There is slight movement in spine but still holding tight and no webbing displayed.

Text block pages are clean and clear throughout the book.

A great read and a fabulous collectable.
