Highly soluble in water, Sodium sulfate (also known as sodium sulphate or sulfate of soda) is an inorganic compound with formula Na₂SO_4.

The decahydrate form of Sodium Sulphate is known as Glauber's salt.

Applications:

In Laboratory: widely used as an inert drying agent, for removing traces of water from organic solutions.

In Industry: used in the paper-making, glass, dye, printing and pharmaceutical industries.

Other applications: as a filler in detergent; as a component in spinning bath for vinylon; in electro-bath for electroplating; in low chromate passivation solution for electroplated zinc layer; de-frosting windows.
