2 GEMS of THE AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN EMPIRE

These beautiful, colorful, ornate and large size banknotes were issued in 1913 in Vienna, the glittering capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire just prior to WW1.

Each is in the denomination of 20 Kronen or Korona or Corona (Crowns) but the portrait on the First Series note (top) is slightly different from the Second Series note (bottom). Each has an additional female portrait on back.

Both notes have a bright red "DeutschOesterreich" (German Austria) overprint. The fronts are printed in German while the backs are printed in Hungarian!

The notes remain in clean, somewhat crisp VF or better condition!
