This is a crown coin from Britain dated 1896.

See the date and notice the 6 is quite a distance from the 9 in relation to the other numbers. The spacing is not correct. This is a known variety.

Also the edge legend is the LX type of the regnal year.

I am not a coin grader so please see close-up photographs provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition for yourself.

My coins are just as I have got them in from other collectors so they may be grubby, stained, or mucky as I do NOT clean them. They are just as they come in so sometimes I take more photographs at different angles to hopefully show the coin in more detail which can make them look slightly darker or lighter. The coin(s) you see in the photographs is the one you will be getting unless otherwise stated.

It measures approx. 38.5mm in diameter and weighs approx. 28.3 grams.

My stock ref : T300/9623/ qty in #AA coin box.

Most of my items are sent using the Global Shipping Program due to Royal Mail being really quite useless at actually delivering parcels worldwide which gave me and my customers a truly diabolical service in the last year. However if you are bidding on a number of items and you want to COMBINE shipping then please eBay message me and I may be able to change the shipping option for you.

To see ALL my other 7000+ items for sale: please click on the VISIT SHOP or click "see other items", strangely both only have a limited view of what I have to offer on each platform so to see everything click on Shop by Category which will give you a much better view.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal Coke can, and we all know how big those are.

If you see A/F = a/f in the title or description it means "as found" condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. In relation to all my listings it does not mean " about fine ". I have used A/F  for " as found " for 45 years.
