Due to legal threats from The Times newspaper it was abbreviated to IT. Despite constant Police harassment of the UK underground press, IT magazine continued to grow to a circulation of 40,000 in late 1968-69 until its first demise in October 1973 when it was convicted for running contact ads for gay men. There were just a few sporadic issues between 1974 and 1982.
