Gorgeous GRAY'S HAND-PAINTED PLATE 10.5 Inch (26 cm) 1930's. Bright vibrant colours in this seemingly modern design. This must certainly have been inspired by the work of Susie Cooper, who started her career at Gray's factory in Hanley in the late 20s. Although she had left the factory at the time this plate was made, often her patterns were continued and this pattern is very similar to those of plates by the designer.
The plate is in generally good condition, but there is the faintest of hairlines which just catches my nail as I run it across the surface. I have tried to capture this on photographs 2 & 3 but is barely visable as it is so fine.
It is a beautiful plate with cheery, happy colours and design. Highly collectable.
