and WW II battle-wagon by Alvin Eckert USCS #9964. This is one of the few color photos of the ship from the 1930s.

Cover franked with a 29 cent Pearl Harbor Attack stamp # 2559i and a 39 cent flag stamp (FDOI).

USS Oklahoma: this WW I era battleship had an uneventful peace-time service

in the Atlantic Fleet before moving to the Pacific in 1936. The Pearl Harbor attack

rolled her over next to Ford Island with USS Maryland trapped in between.

She was repaired at Pearl Harbor, but was lost being towed to the Mainland US in 1942.
