Up for auction is a vintage one-of-a-kind "Hidden Agenda" wood parlor kaleidoscope by David Kalish.  The scope has an isosceles three-mirror system; and an oil-filled wand containing colored glass, seashells, and found objects.  The wand can be retracted into the body of the scope and extended by pushing or pulling on the barrel, which rotates inside the body of the scope to turn the wand over.  This scope was made 1986 and is one of the first examples of a wand-type kaleidoscope.  It remained in the collection of the artist for over thirty years before I bought it at a kaleidoscope exhibition a few years ago.  The artist's statement about this scope can be found at https://brewstersociety.com/bksmt/bksstrathmorecatalog2019.php.  The scope is 13 inches front to back, 4.25 inches wide, and 15.5 inches tall; and weighs 10 lb.  There is some wear to the wood finish at the bottom of the circular opening in the scope body and some tarnish on the metal eyepiece, but it is otherwise in excellent condition.  It is signed by the artist.

The winning bidder will pay actual shipping costs as calculated by the eBay shipping calculator based on the dimensions (20" x 20" x 14") and weight (13 lb.) of the package and the shipping distance from zip code 20905 to the winning bidder.  Shipping is offered through FedEx, UPS, and USPS.  The item will be shipped within three business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receipt of payment.
