This antique scale is a rare find for collectors of antique farm and general store items. Made with a brass face by Chatillon, in New York, in the late 1800's or very early 1900's, it features an improved circular spring balance mechanism for accurate weighing. The scale measures 17-1/2 inches, overall, with the widest part measuring 4-1/2 inches wide.  It includes the original hanging ring and functional weighing hook, making it wonderful for displays or functional use.  The backside shows one brass screw with nut appears to be an old replacement.  It shows age appropriate surface wear and patina, as shown in the  photos, from use.  The brass face has been hand polished and could brought up to a brighter shine if desired.

The style of this piece is country, with a simple yet elegant design that is sure to catch the eye. Its authentic original condition and signed maker's mark add to its value and historical significance. This antique metal scale is perfect for anyone interested in collecting or displaying antique and vintage items.
