Maxfield Parrish’s “Land Of Make-Believe” - Original Matted and Framed Color Illustration (Frontispiece) from the August, 1912 Edition of Scribner’s Magazine. It was used to illustrate a featured poem by Rosamund Marriott Watson. The image is 6 3/4”x 5 1/4” outermost frame dimensions are 11”x 9”. MP signature is barely discernible bottom left corner. The matte is textured ecru (photo #9); the frame is newer but thought the color worked well. It is backed with acid-free rag board, new hardware, dustcover and bump-ons, November, 2023. This was originally painted for, and appeared as the color frontispiece in this issue, and issued as a print the same year; a nice cost/size alternative to the print (Ref. Flacks 4th. Page 46, very last photo #18). Note: The first 11 photos are taken without glass to avoid reflection/glare issues; photos 12, 13 & 14 after completion of project. The Scribner’s title page, photos 15, 16 & 17, with the associated poem Will be included. I refund shipping charges over actual. Please visit my other Parrish listings. Thanks for looking.
