This is an OUTSTANDING Victorian PICKLE CASTOR - both Quality & Condition! - Circa 1890's
The TORONTO Silver Plate Co. Frame is decorated on the top and each side with beautifully detailed open work floral applications. The base is a raised platform with vertical ribbing and a double flower & leaf decoration on either side, to hold the jar in place. The lid fits the jar perfectly - topped with a stylized ring finial - monogramed with an Old English style 'F'. Very fancy Tongs compliment the set.
The Jar / Insert is a lovely piece of CROWN MILANO Satin finish Opal art glass from the Mt. Washington Glass Co. - decorated with hand painted flowers under a Pink border with a scrolling edge trimmed in Gold.
