watch is a Swiss made Zenith Defy El Primero 21 10.9000. 9004 /96.R921
FULL Black carbon fiber round shaped case measuring 44mm diameter.
Fixed black carbon bezel. Automatic movement, power reserve up to ± 50
hours. Displays a Black Carbon open work dial with faceted
ruthenium plated applied luminous Arabic numerals and batons index hour
markers, Faceted gunmetal ruthenium plated hands with luminous fill,
Large red tipped central 1/100th of seconds counter hand (with the
Zenith star logo as a counterweight), Grey 1/100 markers around the
outer rim, inner minute track. Chronograph stop/watch: Black rimmed/
four sub dials, counter at 6 o’clock, 30 minute sub-dial at the 3
o’clock, power reserve indicator below 12 o’clock, running
seconds sub-dial located at the 9 o’clock positions. Black Carbon
crown, pushers. Scratch resistant Sapphire crystal, Transparent
caseback. Black (cordura effect) rubber strap with Titanium and

shaped case … “For most, Zenith is about the El Primero. Well, they
created the first automatic mechanical movement. Even though the ghost
of El Primero hovers over Zenith,
the brand was also known for its well-crafted timepieces. The first
Defy was launched in 1969. When the horology world was deep in diving
watches and accurate movements Zenith built the strong, sturdy Defy
making a brand that defies the cultural norms applied to the
watchmaking industry. Zenith resurrected the Defy collection back in
2017 and the Defy El Primero 21 was
one of the family's initial stars. That watch is a high-speed
chronograph (based on the legendary El Primero) that uses two separate
escapements, one for timekeeping and one for the chronograph, allowing
it to time events down to 1/100th of a second. Yeah, it's serious
stuff. Fast forward, Zenith has following things up with a version with
a case made entirely of carbon, down to the caseback, pushers, and
crown still powered by the El Primero 9004 caliber, but it gets an
updated look and feel, with the carbon case complemented by the almost
all black dial treatment, which just uses white markings and pops of red
to increase legibility. If you want a thoroughly contemporary
