This is an OCTAGON shaped OYSTER PLATE with 5 natural shape oyster shell wells and a scallop shell well for sauce/lemon - all shaded yellow to pink. It is decorated in an Unusual manner with hand painted, Kidney shaped, Rainbow colored 'EYES'or pearls in each well - and a mottled brown background that looks like the rich inside covering of an antique book.
Unmarked: Maker unknown - Believed to be German or Austrian - circa late 19th century.
Measurements: 8" across the center, sides are 4.25" & 2.5", edge 1" high.
