The Contents covers shipwrecks in the period from 1431 to 1807 and depicts historical narratives of the fates, preservation and loss of seamen and sailors. Condition: Please see photographs as part of condition report: Rebound in Brown Buckram Bindings with Calf Title Pieces to Spine with Gold Gilt Title and Tooled Bands, bindings remain firm and in a good order. Half-title to volume 1, 2 folding engraved maps, contemporary ownership inscription to volume 1 front blank, spotting (heavier to a few preliminary leaves), endpapers renewed, modern brown buckram gilt, text have toning, spotting and light foxing, the bindings remain tight and the text blocks are firm, plates have toning and spotting and short closed tears to folds, both maps present. LACKING PAGE 515 [which is the last index leaf to vol 3] and instructions to binder leaf. Heavy staining to vol 2's title.
