DVD:  WYNNS ARCHIVE Vol 9

This programme is the second in the series to feature Wynns' overseas operations in Nigeria, Zambia, Kenya and Sudan.

Wynns Archive After the release of Wynns Archive Vol. 8 we were fortunate enough to be contacted by Mr Glynn Rees, former Export Manager for Scammell. Mr Rees was able to supply us with an eight minute film showing the two Scammell Contractors and the unique Head Wrightson Road/Rail Transporter being loaded onto the Nigerian Railway track for the 400 mile journey to Mokwa.

Wynns Archive More footage of the Wynns/Mammoet moves in Nigeria, including an unfortunate Scammell 'incident'. In Kenya we see the final leg of the jorney from Mombasa to Gtara over unmade roads. The offloading and positioning of a 75 ton transformer is also shown. In the Sudan we show Detroit Diesel powered Bedford KMs and 240 ton Scammell Contractors tackling the Akobar Pass, crossing soft desert sands and fording a river. We also see why John Wynn insisted that a Caterpillar 16G grader was part of convoy.

Commentary by John Wynn.
