The coin is dedicated to the Cyclamen coum (a sowbread variety), an endangered relict perennial. This tender plant with lilac-pink flowers and rounded leaves resembling those of the water-lily is on Ukraine`s list of endangered species.
On the obverse of the coin, within the wreath formed by images of some flora and fauna species, there are the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine and the inscriptions: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ/БАНК/УКРАЇНИ/2/ГРИВНІ/2014 (National / Bank / of Ukraine / 2 / hryvnias / 2014). In addition the obverse of the latter coin bears the mark of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.
On the reverse of the coins there is depicted Cyclamen coum (Kuznetzovii) (it is coloured on the German silver coin thanks to the use of pad printing) together with the inscriptions ЦИКЛАМЕН КОСЬКИЙ (КУЗНЕЦОВА) (above) and CYCLAMEN COUM MILL. S. L. (below)
