These beautiful little bronze donkeys with black finish are classic mid 20thC decorative pieces whose design is attributed to the renowned Austrian ceramicist and bronze designer Walter Bosse.

Highly collectible pieces, these are  lovely stylised donkey with bags of character and would make a lovely gift for someone who is fond of donkeys... or mid century collectibles!

It is known that the Austrian Bosse miniature bronzes were copied in England during the 60s. (and some later ones coming from Russia which look quite different.)

As there are no identifying markings in these little pieces, I can not say if it is an original, and have priced it accordingly, as a good quality English copy.

It is however in beautiful vintage condition with some wear to the nose of the donkey with a mane  where the bronze is exposed.

These are small tactile objects which are lovely to hold as well as look at, made of solid cast bronze with a black paint finish leaving the eyes, ears and tail tip showing a burnished golden patina.
