#9964. Cover franked with a 63 cent flag stamp # 5788 (FDOI), and a 3 cent USN stamp #935.

This brave vessel, commissioned in 1932, is seen at Shanghi, China in 1937.

She was the Asiatic Fleet flagship and served in Asia from 1933 until 1941.

The ship transported President Roosevelt to the Atlantic Charter meeting with Churchill and

shelled the enemy held shoreline at Normandy in 1944. See her web sites for the details of her
