Description: Only known unfolded version of this plan! This plan is used in a folded version in: 'Gerymde bedenckingh of ontwerp om Uitrecht [...]' by Everard Meyster, published by Willem Clerck, Utrecht, 1670 and much later in 'Geschiedenis en Statistiek van Utrecht.', by van der Monde, published in 1840. The plan by Meyster was inspired by the plan of Hendrick Moreelse. These 17th c. enlargment plans were never executed. Ref: Hollstein Dutch 14.
Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Anthonie de Winter' after 'Everard Meyster after the cartographer Bernard de Roy'. Anthonie de Winter (1652-1707) was a Dutch etcher / engraver from Utrecht.

Subject: Antique print, titled: 'De nieuwe platte grond kaart van Uit-recht op zyn schoonst en sterrkst.' - (The new plan map of Utrecht at its cleanest and strongests.) Plan of Utrecht with the title in a banner in the top edge of the image. Left of the map of the arms of the province of Utrecht and to the right the city coat of arms. Bottom left an obelisk with the names of the and scroll with the text: 'What Baet het Brill aen bien Als men dogh niet wil zien. (What the use of offering glasses, if one does not want to see.) Bottom right: 26 fol. Very rare.
Condition: Very good, given age. Margin cropped close to the image edge.
