Great Northern Ry Co. Native American Print Picture Lot Sitting Bull Night Shoot Picture Lot Sitting Bull Night Shoot

There is a lot of 5 vintage (1920-1960) prints from original portraits by Winold Reiss, who lived on a Blackfeet Indian reservation in the 1920's. Commissioned by the Great Northern Railway to paint portraits of the tribe. The set of prints was called "Blackfeet Indians of Glacier National Park" originally sold in the late 1930's and 1940's.  Copyright Great Northern Ry. Co. St Paul", 9" x 12". Great Northern Railroad became Burlington Northern Santa Fe, known today as BNSF. 
  • NIGHT SHOOTS, "A member of the Pecunnie Brave Society and a picturesque figure at all Blackfeet gatherings"
  • ONLY CHILD, "Pecunnie girl -- sitting against a tepee back-rest made of thin willow sticks"
  • SCALPING WOMAN, "Wife of Night Shoots"
  • PLUME, "A modern representative of the Kainahs -- proud owner of many lodges, horses, and a large herd of cattle"
One print from 1984 produced by Burlington Northern Railroad by Winold Reiss: 
  • DANCING BOY, Blackfeet Indian of Glacier National Park, 16" x 17.5". In poor condition. Torn, contains marks/water spots, and missing "framed" area around the top, bottom and side. Please see pics.
There is one print from The Denver Lith. Co. Denver, Colo., 10" x 13.5". (I do not know the artist of this print.)
  • SITTING BULL of the Hunkpapa Lakota of South Dakota, "Supplement to THE GREAT DIVIDE March 1891". Sitting Bull was shot dead on December 15, 1890. The condition of this print is torn and has dark spots and water marks (please see pics).

In fair to good condition, some are torn with water marks (please see pics).
