This is a vintage large size ornate Stokes Silveplate lidded Caviar Tureen with a milk glass ice bucket insert. The Tureen would be filled up with crushed ice in the insert with a seperate bowl of caviar sitting above the crushed ice to keep it fresh. This party size makes it ideal for buffet style dining. The silver plate is in good condition with a minor bump near one of the decorative side knobs. Inside the base where the glass sits there is some abrasion marks. The lid has some pitting marks to the inside. Measures 23cm tall to the top of the lid knob. 25cm diameter at the widest point. Stokes sticker label to the base.
