1628 MIRACLES 1ed Saint
Colette PROPHECY Colettine Nuns French Monastics Silvere
Colette of Corbie, or Saint Colette, was a 15th-century
French nun who is best known for her intents on helping poor and needy mothers
and children. In the 17th-century French historian Claude Silvere
published a thorough account of Saint Colette’s life, prophecies, and her
miraculous deeds. One interesting account is of Colette’s prophecy at Bourge
Convent, where a sister would fall under a cart and be unharmed. Silvere also
describes Colette’s help in providing the nuns in Nièvre with food during a
famine.
