Die Marke H.S. Anderson, 1973 in Japan gegründet, ist seit langer Zeit durch handgefertigte Instrumente höchster Qualität bekannt. Im Gegensatz zu Kopien der berühmten US-Modelle war die Mad Cat etwas komplett Eigenständiges. Der Korpus bestand aus einem Walnuss-Kernblock, mit Flügeln aus Esche und Ahorn-Decke und -Boden. Die Hardware und die Tonabnehmer waren für eine Tele-Gitarre ebensowenig typisch. Eine kleine Teilauflage dieses Modells wurde für Hohner USA produziert, mit einem Hohner-Logo - eine dieser Gitarren wurde später von Prince entdeckt, und der Rest ist Geschichte. Anderson brand, established 1973 in Japan, has been building quality handcrafted instruments for a long time. Far from producing copies of famous US models, the Mad Cat was something completely unique. The body construction was based around a walnut center strip, with ash sides and maple top and bottom. The hardware and pickups were not typical for a Tele style guitar either. A small batch of these guitars was made for Hohner USA, with the Hohner logo. Pop artist Prince discovered one of these rare guitars early on in his career, and the rest is history. Vintage correct reissue of the original 70's H.S.
