This unique hand etched Tall Ship vertical design on a 440 Stainless Steel Blade Marlin Spike with a foldable bladed knife.  The Marlin Spike has a lock feature, while the knife blade is foldable.

This beautiful knife is part of the Scrimshaw Collection, with those words laser engraved into the blade.  The MS knifes come with the pictured leather sheath and each scale is made with Bovine Bone.  The MS Knife has bolsters and shackle that are nickel silver with brass pins and liner.  It is a lock for the Marlin Spike and a very useful pocket knife. The Marlin Spike is made of Stainless Steel.  The dimensions of the MS Knife with the blade closed are 4.11" x 2.17" x 0.69".  The blade itself is approximately 2.91" making the width of the knife with an open blade 7.02".  The Marlin Spike is 3.05" long.  The SKU is MS 401V.

The etching is inked with black india ink and sealed with renaissance wax, which is used by museums for antique restoration.  It also helps bring out the beauty of the artwork as well as in the cow bone. The knife is water resistant, but not waterproof.

The artwork was originally hand etched by Bill Feeney. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Saint Francis College in Bidderford, Maine, In 1973 I accepted a teaching position at Westport High School where I met Robert Rayno, the art teacher. As part of the class curriculum, he taught a section on etching and I sat in on many of his classes and purchased the necessary tools to begin etching. Combining my natural artistic ability with the techniques learned from Mr. Rayno.

Each knife is hand etched, and there will be some minor differences between each knife.
