This is a very special 1950s piece of mine that I’m ready to let go. It was the first “oldest” piece I’d ever found when I first began finding/wearing vtg years ago.

Gorgeous twist front V neckline. Batwing sleeve. Full skirt. Center back Conmar zipper with hook & eye. Plain weave acetate. By Tobie New York.

This fit me well when I was a 4/6 and shown wearing when I found it at that size. The entire dress from the empire waist down is “lined” with interfacing, which is quite stiff and papery one, but adds volume to the skirt and keeps the waist structured.

Truly the only flaw to this beauty is discoloration. At shoulders and sleeves (front/back), there is some fading. At hem, there is some yellow-ish staining, more so seen from the interior than exterior. I have not tried to spot clean.
