As is typical of 2004 coins, this coin may have spotting or light toning.
The Royal Canadian Mint is proud to commemorate the sacrifices made by Allied veterans on the 60th anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 1944 during the Second World War, with the 2004 Silver Maple Leaf D-Day coin.
This is the first double privy mark coin ever minted by Canada. To the left of the maple leaf stem, a privy mark of an Allied infantryman with a rifle, wading ashore at Normandy, is depicted. To the right appears the commemoration "D-Day 6-6-44 Jour-J". The obverse features the new, fourth effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. Each D-Day Privy Mark SML comes in a clear plastic capsule inside of a handsome, burgundy leatherette presentation case, with a black, textured outer box. Each coin comes with an individually numbered certificate of authenticity.
