Description

The Vitra Design Museum has produced miniatures with historical furniture design for more than 20 years from the collections we hold. It is a lineup that covers changes in furniture history, from Art Nouveau to Bauhaus design, and from postmodernism to modern works. The "miniature collection", which reduces the original work to 1/6 size, is faithfully reproduced to the details, such as structures, materials, and colors. It is a high reproducibility that has been carefully selected in detail, such as duplication of screws and other parts, natural wood grain, and manual craftsmanship, as well as collector items, as well as universities, design schools, and architects. It is used. Jean Prouve, an architect, engineer and designer, created an innovative structure and shape with advanced metal processing technology. It influenced the development of lightweight prefabricated architecture, especially in the production of aircraft and cars. Atelier Jean Prouve, who started the company in 1947, also designed not only architectural members but also furniture. In 1955, he participated in a competition competition for furniture in university cities in Antony in Paris, and made furniture for entertainment facilities, cafeteria, and student dormitory with Charlotte Pelian. "Antony" was a redesigned chair designed for university cities in Strasbourg in 1950 in this project.
