It's a tale from the Edo period often performed in Japanese traditional arts like Kabuki.

It's a bag called "Ikkambari," crafted by meticulously layering washi paper on a bamboo basket and binding it with persimmon tannin.

"Ikkambari" refers to bamboo baskets or bags made by combining bamboo, washi paper, and fabric, and layering them with coatings of persimmon tannin.

Persimmon tannin offers waterproof, insect-repelling, and antibacterial properties.
