This exquisite antique Portuguese silver and gold biscuit bun warmer is a true masterpiece of art deco design. The intricate shell and floral pattern is beautifully crafted, and the trifold design makes it both practical and decorative. With a silver alloy of .833, this piece is a true representation of the high quality craftsmanship of the 1900-1940 era. The weight is 1723 grams. The weight value alone of this Portuguese Silver today is approximately $1,281 USD. Measures approx. 9" tall and 9" wide. Each hinge has a mark. One has a single S. Another has two SS. And the third hinge has three SSS marks. Not sure what that means. I don't know if this is supposed to remain open when you fully open it, but it does not. I have to hold it open to keep it open or it will close back up on it's own. My guess is it's supposed to do that to keep the buns warm at all times.

The item is in excellent condition, with no scratches, dents or signs of wear and tear. It has been elegantly cared for over the years, and is a must-have for any serious collector of antique silverware. Just needs a good polishing. It has a spring closure that you open and a spring hinged hook that holds the gold plated gilt panels in place to keep the buns warm. Don't miss out on the opportunity to own this stunning piece of history.
