I’ll Build a Stairway to Paradise was written by George Gershwin, Ira Gershwin, and Buddy DeSylva in 1922 for the Broadway revue George White's Scandals. There have been a number of recordings of the song over the years, done by artists such as Sarah Vaughan, Liza Minnelli, Joel Grey, Michael Feinstein, and Nancy Sinatra. It was used in the 1951 musical film An American in Paris, as well as the 2004 Howard Hughes biopic The Aviator.

Way Down Yonder in New Orleans was published in 1922 with music by John Turner Layton Jr. and lyrics by Henry Creamer. It has been recorded many times over the years, including a fundraiser event in 2005 to raise money to help those affected by hurricane Katrina. This fundraiser raised over $50 million. The song was also featured in the show Boardwalk Empire in 2012.
