No is is not the unit you will receive. This one is mine. I will be shipping the unit with my wood case and putting a really crappy in one mine. I am not picky how mine looks. As you can see it has knob substitutes. I sold mine to some very happy customers.

The unit being sold is in the shop for restoration as you are reading this. Just shipped one to a very happy customer two weeks ago. Please as any questions you need there is plenty of time for you to decide whether you want this MONSTER to crank up your best tunes. Expect 4-6 weeks for completion. If you would like it sooner, my technician can move it into another place for me. I currently have several models in for restoration.

This is the top end of this series Sansui. 125+ Watts per channel. One of the best FM tuners made. Also boasts a top end phono preamp. Very nice Dolby FM and a Dolby B circuit for those reel to reel fans. And the ability to drive TWO amplifiers from its preamplifier.

I have owned one since 1987. And yes this does outperform the regular 9090 with a very comfortable almost tube amplifier sound. The 9090 and 9090db are two of the best Sansui ever made. I do also keep the 9090 in stock for those who want that same clean sound for a smaller price tag. Purchase Either and you will not be disappointed. I have ten restored 9090 & 9090db in service with great reviews.

I am open to any questions you have. This again is a full restoration. A recap done correctly, replace those pesky fusible resistors, output caps replaced, output transistors tested and replaced with originals (I do not use cheap fakes) if needed, unit will be biased, FM calibration, DC Offset, and this one will have the RF power supply rebuilt. I am very picky so these must sound like I want them to. I test all units a minimum of three days at various levels to make sure the sound is up to my standard. As seen in the pictures of my Sansui 9090db the lighting will look identical to that.

Special attention is put into the Dolby circuit in all DB units. This is an expensive but necessary thing to have done to all 8080db/9090db units. My technician does at least 15-20 Sansui 8080db or 9090db units every year.
I do carry the 8080db in stock and will have one restored upon request. Ask for pricing on the 8080db.
