MAJESTIC White Star Line 1922

Built by Blohm & Voss at Hamburg and launched in June 1914 as Bismarck for HAPAG. WWI delayed her completion and she was handed over to the British Government in 1919. Acquired by White Star and completed at Hamburg in 1922 as Majestic, then the world's largest ship. She was 56,551 gross tons, quadruple screws with steam turbines, speed 23 knots, accommodation for 750 1st, 545 2nd and 850 3rd class passengers. She sailed on White Star's Southampton - Cherbourg - New York service, her last voyage was made in February 1936 and she was then laid up at Southampton. Sold to the British Admiralty and converted into the boys training ship Caledonia. Gutted by fire at Rosyth in September 1939 and sank, she was raised in 1943 and scrapped at Inverkeithing.

1:1250 scale metal model made in Germany by Carlo Marquardt, No. CM 150. It is 22.8cm (9in) long and finely detailed, new with the CM box.
