Dunlop presents this performance scooter tire orientation, the ScootSmart. A modern tire must be as varied and broad in its abilities as the range of current scooter types today. In order to adequately respond to these needs, many Dunlop have released the ScootSmart scooter tire. It is available with a cross-ply and also radial structure and carries a speed rating of 210 km/h! Dunlops years of experience in designing and manufacturing tires for the two wheel market are displayed in the construction of the ScootSmart range of tyres. They are the result of a combination of many technologies and materials already demonstrated in their range of Roadsmart sport-touring tyres, designed for motorbikes. Thanks to the latest simulation techniques based on finite element analysis (FEA) technology and high-quality silica tread compound with an ultra-fine soot component, the ScootSmart ensure an optimal combination of grip in driving conditions dry and wet coupled with an agile, easy handling and long life. The tread profile design is based on that of the ROADSMART range. For optimal performance in wet conditions, ScootSmart tires have a negative increased profile along the mid-contact point of the tread, thus allowing more effective water removal for better grip. To provide excellent cornering stability and increase confidence the negative depth profile decreases towards the tread edges to increase the total surface area of ​​the positive tread profile. Furthermore the engineers of this design incorporated a high degree of straight-line stability, maximum steering precision and a wear characteristic within the parameters of the original design to achieve consistent performance throughout their life cycle.
