This exquisite charger is a true masterpiece of the Georgian era, hailing from the United Kingdom and featuring stunning hand-painted center design and border in a variety of colors. Its age precedes that of the 19th century, dating back to the late 18th century around 1790. The material used in its creation is cream glazed earthenware, also referred to as creamware, possibly by the famed Wedgwood company, and it measures an impressive 16" inches in diameter x 2-1/2" inches deep. It is in beautiful estate condition with NO cracks, NO repairs and NO restorations.  Only the flange edge shows stacking wear on opposing sides, as seen in the photos.  The hand-painted reserve shows a robed or cloaked bearded man playing an elaborately carved harp with a crown on the ground to his left, monogram below, all framed with a floral garland wreath.  This original piece of early creamware in a wonderfully large form and beautiful decoration is sure to be a standout addition to any antique collection, with its unique style and deep dish design form adding to its allure.  Be sure to see our other listings for more antique creamware, as well as other antiques in various categories.
