Description - Delightful unusual late 19th century Victorian solid silver postage stamp box of square form with sliding draw and a suspension loop
embellished with ivy leaf decoration and a central vacant cartouche
silver-gilt (gold washed) interior.
Fully hallmarked with anchor for Birmingham assay, lion passant indicating 925 grade solid silver, date letter "x" for the year 1897 and the maker's mark "CS.FS" which is Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd.
Condition - In good condition, small split to side (see end photograph).
