The coin features an image of the classic HMS Bounty, a ship from the eighteenth century, on the reverse side. The coin contains .9999 pure silver and a face value of one dollar backed by the government of The Cook Islands.

Obverse: Bust of Queen Elizabeth II. 


Reverse: Depiction of the HMS Bounty from the port side as it sails. The ship was birthed in 1784 as the Bethia as a private merchant ship dispersing 215 tons. Small by Royal Navy standards, the ship was renamed the HMS Bounty when purchased by the Royal Navy and retrofitted for a voyage to Tahiti to include more space and armaments to defend itself. It was lost to mutiny in 1789.
