This laptop stand was purchased overseas...was probably made in China, Korea, or Japan.  The design *idea* is a good one - but real-world functionality leaves much to be desired.

As you can see pictured, each side of the platform has 3 'legs.'  Each leg can be adjusted into *many* 'around the clock' positions by first depressing a (round, silver) button, then moving the leg before it clicks into place.  So...the platform can literally be contorted into 30+ position.  <--Which, ends up being a functionality flaw.  It's not hard to move the legs or platform, but the sheer number of possible positions means that it takes forever to click-click-click-click-click the table into the position you want.  Plus, the farther away you get from "flat," the more flimsy and unstable the platform becomes.

There are a few nice features about the stand.  The platform itself is made of metal and there is a nice rubber wrist-rest for keyboarding.  The weight of this piece is perfect, say, if you were to actually use it on your lap (with the legs folded flat) while in-bed or on a couch or chair.  Generally-speaking, if one were to *not* unfurl the legs beyond a few clicks, the stand might work really well, especially if other supports like pillows or blankets were nearby.

This piece has basically never been used; it was quickly stored away after purchase.
