Antique Print-DISPERSION OF LAND ANIMALS-Brehm-1890

Description: This attractive original old antique print / plate originates from: 'Brehms Tierleben' (English title: Brehm's Life of Animals) is a reference book, first published in the 1864, which made its author, Alfred Edmund Brehm, known around the world. This plate is from a 1892 or 1900 edition.

Artists and Engravers: The author Alfred Edmund Brehm (1829-1884), was a German zoologist, natural history illustrator and writer, the son of Christian Ludwig Brehm. Through the book titled 'Brehms Tierleben', his name became a synonym for popular zoological literature. Litho by or after W. Kuhnert.

Subject: Plate: 'Verbreitungsgebiete der Landtiere.' (World map of the dispersion of land animals.)

Condition: Excellent. General age related toning and occasional light staining from handling as visible on image.

Size (in cm): The overall size is ca. 32.5 x 25 cm. The image size is ca. 27.5 x 22 cm.
Size (in inch): The overall size is ca. 12.8 x 9.8 inch. The image size is ca. 10.8 x 8.7 inch.

Medium: Colour lithographs on a vellin type paper.
