Doni Sali Germination:
1) Wear gloves when handling boonie pepper seeds, because they contain a high level of the spicy chemical capsaicin, which is what boosts the boonie pepper scoville rating to between 16,000 to 40,000 units, according to Pepper Joe's.
2) Start the seeds in small pots, six-pack containers or individual peat pots filled with moist seed-starting compost at a depth of 1/4 inch.
3) Set the pots on a propagation mat heated to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Loosely cover the containers with plastic wrap to hold moisture around the seeds. Keep the soil moist, but let the surface dry out between waterings, so it doesn't become soggy. If kept moist and warm, boonie pepper seeds will germinate in 14 to 28 days.
